The English language has become a fundamental means of communication
nowadays. This language is used in a huge amount by people around the world to
communicate and share information through printed texts, books, websites, and
social media, to mention some of them. Taking into account the
importance of English, the schools have included in their curriculum themes to
develop skills such as reading, and writing, where we will find the teaching of
vocabulary, grammar, and tenses. Other skills are related to listening and
speaking, as a way to express ideas and information as well. However, there is
a less emphasis on a communicative approach to pronunciation which is linked
and has a relevant role in listening and speaking skills.
We know that as a non-native speaker, English pronunciation could be a
challenge. By which, we can notice that in the intermediate grade’s schools, in
this case, grade 8th, there are difficulties in pronouncing English words
properly. For that reason, we design the following research question:
How can the implementation of multimedia resources
based on pronunciation schemes improve listening and speaking skills?
This problematic aim is to provide digital and analog tools that could
avoid mispronunciations, since when an interlocutor does not articulate
suitably a word it is difficult to understand the message. Nevertheless, when
there is clarity and proper pronunciation the phrases and message it is going
to be accurate.
