The English language has become a fundamental means of communication nowadays. This language is used in a huge amount by people around the world to communicate and share information through printed texts, books, websites, and social media, to mention some of them.  Taking into account the importance of English, the schools have included in their curriculum themes to develop skills such as reading, and writing, where we will find the teaching of vocabulary, grammar, and tenses. Other skills are related to listening and speaking, as a way to express ideas and information as well. However, there is a less emphasis on a communicative approach to pronunciation which is linked and has a relevant role in listening and speaking skills.

 

We know that as a non-native speaker, English pronunciation could be a challenge. By which, we can notice that in the intermediate grade’s schools, in this case, grade 8th, there are difficulties in pronouncing English words properly. For that reason, we design the following research question:

How can the implementation of multimedia resources based on pronunciation schemes improve listening and speaking skills?

This problematic aim is to provide digital and analog tools that could avoid mispronunciations, since when an interlocutor does not articulate suitably a word it is difficult to understand the message. Nevertheless, when there is clarity and proper pronunciation the phrases and message it is going to be accurate.
